Why ALL Real Estate Agents Need A YouTube Channel in 2023

The ONE tool that's proven to be absolutely invaluable in my business? YouTube. If you are a real estate agent and you are not already on YouTube, you're missing out on a huge opportunity to grow and build authority on auto pilot. YouTube is an absolutely massive platform that is set to soon surpass Facebook in terms of monthly active users. So if you're looking for a sign to get started, consider this it! In this blog, I'll outline 10 reasons why all real estate agents need to prioritize their YouTube channel in 2023 and how it can become a key point of leverage in your lead generation efforts.

1. It's absolutely massive

YouTube is the second most popular website in the world, with over 2 billion monthly active users. It's a massive platform with a global reach that allows you to showcase your real estate business to a vast audience.

2. YouTube has no competition

Unlike Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, YouTube has no real competition. It is the go-to platform for video content, whether you want to learn something new, fix something around your house, just watch the news, or be entertained. Generally, if you want to watch videos on the internet, you go to YouTube. By establishing a presence on YouTube, you can both set yourself apart from your competition and reach this broader audience.

3. YouTube Slowly but surely replacing TV

As more and more people cut the cord and switch to streaming services, YouTube is slowly but surely replacing TV as the go-to destination for video content. If you want to reach the younger generation, you need to be on YouTube. With over 1 billion hours watched per day on the platform, this shift in viewing habits presents an signifiant opportunity for real estate agents to reach their target audience where they are spending their time and attention now.

4. Highly targeted audiences

YouTube is highly targeted, which means that you can put yourself in front of someone who is searching for something specific. For example, if someone is searching for what it is like to live in your city, you can create a video showcasing your city and what it has to offer. This is a unique opportunity to be an authority and showcase what it is like to live in your city. YouTube's targeting capabilities allow you to reach audiences based on demographics, interests, and even search history. This means you can create content specifically for the people most likely to be interested in your real estate services.

5. It's cost recovering

While there may be some initial costs associated with creating video content, YouTube is a cost-effective way to market your real estate business in the long run. in 2020, my YouTube channel did $23,201 in revenue, and that's all from YouTube's built in revenue sharing platform. If you don't know how this works, you need a thousand subscribers in a certain amount of watch time to get into their revenue sharing program. Then, you can start sharing revenue with them for the ads they run on your channel. Beyond this shared revenue, once your videos are up and running, they can continue to generate leads and clients for years to come.

6. It's evergreen

Unlike other forms of marketing, YouTube videos are evergreen, meaning they don't have an expiration date. Once a video is uploaded, it can continue to drive traffic and generate leads for years to come.

7. It's compounding

The more videos you upload, the more opportunities you have to reach new audiences and generate leads. Every video is a pointed entry to your channel - people find from you somewhere, a recommended video, a search term, the homepage, or maybe their friends send it to them - all of these are potential entry points into your channel, and then they go watch a lot of your other videos. Over time, your videos will continue to drive traffic to your channel, compounding your results and growing your real estate business.

8. Build authority on autopilot

YouTube really does paint you as an authority, while also allowing people to feel out who you are. Once you have a video presence built, by the time they actually talk to you, they're already feel like they know you, and are actually likely sold on you as a real estate agent already. Just from getting to know you through your videos.

9. Social & email content repurposing

Your YouTube videos can also be repurposed for other social media platforms and email marketing campaigns. Though I always recommend becoming a master of one platform than a "jack of all social trades", if you do want to be on other platforms, focus on making long form YouTube content. This can easily be chopped that up into short form pieces of content - we actually do this all the time. Put those short form pieces of content onto Facebook, onto Instagram, onto TikTok, and drive engagement back to your Youtube video as a result. This allows you to get more mileage out of your content and reach a wider audience.

10. You can use them in your sales process

Sending a Youtube link is easy and familiar. We're really big on using video in your sales process at Agent Launch, and reinforce it on our sales training calls every week. Beyond building trust with prospects through video, you can also leverage videos as tools to get over smoke screens and objections when prospecting or nurturing leads. For example - if you're hearing objections like "Hey, I'm not ready to talk to someone", you can respond "No worries, I understand you're probably really early in your process. I'm just here to meet you where you're at. Would it be helpful at this stage in your journey, if I sent you a video on the best neighbourhoods to invest in, in X?" Likely they're gonna say, "Yeah, go ahead and send me that." Now you've started a conversation and that lead will likely watch your video.

In conclusion, a YouTube channel for real estate agents in 2023 is no longer a nice-to-have, but a must-have. A massive platform with no real competition, highly targeted audiences, cost recovering, and evergreen, all making it an efficient tool to market your real estate business. From repurposing content to further leveraging videos as tools for prospecting, don't miss out on this key opportunity to connect with your local audience, build your own reach, and grow your real estate business.
